Old Initiation Mask – Lega – DR Congo

 400,00

Mid-20th Century – Wood, Kaolin – Good Condition
This traditional Lega mask was used during initiation ceremonies. Characterized by its distinctive facial features, it was hand-carved from a single piece of wood and decorated with beautiful geometric patterns. Before each use, the mask was rubbed with white kaolin powder and then displayed on a fence. A striking example of minimalist tribal art, with well-crafted perforations on both sides.
A genuine, well-used tribal mask with authentic patina.
